Dubai Herbal and Treatment Centre

The Dubai Herbal & Treatment Centre (DHTC)[1][2] is a specialist centre of Allopathic and Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) established in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The DHTC is licensed by and operates under the Government of Dubai’s Dubai Health Authority (DHA).[3]

History

The DHTC was founded by Dr Ali Ridha Al Hashemi,[4] Director of Pathology Services (Dubai Health Authority) and recognised for his work in establishing the Central Veterinary Research Laboratory (CVRL) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It opened in February 2003 to provide complementary remedies alongside allopathic health treatments. The DHTC initially focused on Traditional Chinese medicine but since 2003 it has expanded the number of specialist departments.
