Duchy of Poland (966–1025)
The Duchy of Poland (Polish: Księstwo Polskie) refers to (among others) a country existing in Central Europe between 966 (Christianization of Poland) and 1025 (Crowning Boleslaw I the Brave a King, transforming a country into a kingdom). It can't be precisely stated how large the country was at its peak, but it can be roughly estimated and Lesser Poland, Greater Poland, Masovia, all Lechites' territory as well as a bid of land taken from Czech state were certainly among them.[1] The country is considered to be historically the earliest example of an independent, Polish state.[1]
