Dulhan (TV series)

Amal (Sumbul Iqbal) is a young beautiful student who is also working as salesgirl at a boutique. She lives with her father, her step mother and her step siblings. Her father loves her while her step-mother is just in greed of her job and her salary. She doesn't want Amal to marry and takes the same promise from her.

One instance, she happens to meet Mikaal (Sami Khan) a young handsome rich guy at her university when he draws her portrait. He informs her he likes her and is following her everywhere. She rejects his offer of friendship and he proposes her. She denies telling him that her mother doesn't want her to marry. Mikaal gains approval from Amal's father and the two get nikkahfied without knowledge of her step-mother in secret.

However at the time of her wedding night, the truth is revealed. Mikaal has bet on her with his cousin Shahmeer (Faizan Khawaja). In past, Amal has slapped Shahmeer in public when he tried to force her to come with him. Mikaal teased Shahmeer about the incident. Shahmeer in ego challenged Mikaal to make Amal fall in love with him and if he does so, he will give his expensive sports car to Mikaal. All this love with Amal was Mikaal drama.

In present, Shahmeer enters in room instead of Mikaal and reveals all the truth to Amal. A horrified Amal hits him with vase making him unconscious when he tried to rape her. She reaches her home and her father dies due to the shock. Their image is also tainted as some people saw Amal returning in bridal dress at early morning.

Mikaal also comes to know about it from Shahmeer. It is also revealed Mikaal is engaged to Aine (Mashal Khan) who is Shahmeer sister and a very possessive girl always doubting Mikaal. Amal remains traumatized due to the incident and try to be normal in her life.

Mikaal starts feeling guilty with the passing time about what he did to innocent girl and feels confused about his feelings. Shahmeer harass Amal at the boutique and one night tries to kidnap her. Mikaal saves her and he and Shahmeer get into fight over her. Amal runs away and Mikaal tries to convince Shahmeer to leave her and he will give his car back which Shahmeer refuses saying Amal is his ego problem.

Mikaal again saves Amal from Shahmeer at the boutique. Amal leaves her job due to constant harassment from Shahmeer and starts working at Mikaal's mother boutique unknowingly. Mikaal comes to know about fact and asks his mother to bring Amal in their home as helper for his and Aine wedding preparations. Amal remains doubtful of his intentions when he tries to convince her that he wants to only protect her from Shahmeer. He offers her flat in posh area to remain hidden from Shahmeer.

Amal refuses the offer and instead asks for talaq(divorce) recording video confession. He leaves without answering her as he doesn't want to accept that any nikkah happened.

Khan revealed about her upcoming project through his instagram on 8 September 2020.[8] Initial two teasers of the show were released on 13 September 2020.[9]

The official soundtrack of the serial has been composed by Waqar Ali and sung by Zeb Bangash while the lyrics were penned by Sabir Zafar. It was return of the singer on the channel, since she performed the OST of Sammi Jag Khed'da Phire Mere Naal in 2017.

First episode gained 3.3 TRP with 10 million views on YouTube.[11] Sami was praised by critics due to its srong and gripping portrayal.[6] It was also praised due to its powerful performances and its engaging and different stroyline.[12]

Dulhan is the one of the most popular serial of the Hum TV on YouTube. Each episode has more than 2 million views on YouTube.[13]
