Durdana Butt

Durdana Butt (born 9 May 1958) is a Pakistani actress.[1] She is known for her roles in dramas Ruswai, Intezaar and Rani. She is best known for her role in dramas Tanhaiyaan and Tanhaiyan Naye Silsilay as Bibi.[2][3]

Biography and career

Durdana was born in Lahore on May 9, 1958.[4] She completed her studies from Kinnaird College later she went to University of Toledo where she got a PhD in Ohio Educational Administration.[5] She then went on to pursue acting where she got into commercial and modeling which she did briefly on PTV Channel.[6] She got into theater there a director give her a role in a comedy drama, she accepted the role and she was praised for her natural acting and expressions soon after that she did many dramas on PTV Channel.[7] In 1978 she did a role in drama Fifty Fifty with Moin Akhtar the drama got finished in 1984, she got a lot of attention from the audience and she became well known among the audience.[8] Then in 1980 she did the role of Sultana Sahiba in drama Aangan Terha an emotional role for which she got praised.[9] She was paired again with Moin Akhtar in a comedy drama Naukar Ke Aage Chakar in 1982.[10] In 1985 she got offer in drama Tanhaiyaan which she accepted with Marina Khan, Shehnaz Sheikh and Badar Khalil, she did the role of Bibi who is a mother figure to the main protagonists who loses their parents in an accident the drama was successful and she along with cast were recognized for their talents.[11][12][13][14][15]

Personal life

Durdana was married to her cousin who died during the 1970s.
