Ectobius lapponicus is a species in the order Blattodea ("cockroaches and termites"), in the class Insecta ("insects").[1][2] A common name for Ectobius lapponicus is "dusky cockroach".[3]

Distribution

The distribution range of Ectobius lapponicus includes Europe, Northern Asia (excluding China), the northeastern United States, and southeastern Canada. It is native to Europe and was first recorded in North America in 1984.[2][4][5]
