History

Opening in 1941, the school is located in a dense urban area in the southern part of Stockton. Edison High School opened in 1941 at what is now the corner of Charter Way, now called Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, and Center Street. It is named after the American Inventor Thomas Edison.
