Cool Candys scored a 1971-1972 Svensktoppen with the song, as "Göta kanal".[3][4] peaking at eight position, and with lyrics by Gunnar Sandevärn.[5]

The song was also recorded by Curt Haagers, where Sven-Eric Gissbol also was the singer, on the album En spännande dag för Josefine.[6]
