Elizabeth Klein
Elizabeth Johnson Klein is an American attorney and policy advisor. She is U.S. President Joe Biden's nominee for United States Deputy Secretary of the Interior.

Education
Klein earned a bachelor's degree, summa cum laude, in economics from George Washington University. She completed a Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from the Washington College of Law at American University. Klein was president of the WCL environmental law society. She is a member of the Order of the Coif.[1]
Career
Klein held various positions in the Clinton and Obama administrations where she focused on renewable energy and climate change. She was associate deputy secretary of the United States Department of the Interior (DOI) and principal deputy assistant secretary in the DOI Office of Policy, Management and Budget.[1]
From August 2017 through January 2021, Klein was deputy director of the State Energy and Environmental Impact Center at New York University School of Law.[2]
On January 18, 2021, it was announced that U.S. president Joe Biden had picked Klein as his nominee for United States Deputy Secretary of the Interior.[2]
