Enamul Hossain, the youngest and fifth Grandmaster of Bangladesh. He was born on 30 September 1981.

Norms and achievements

Enamul Hossain earned his International Master title in 2002. Then he played in 35th Chess Olympiad also known as Bled Olympiad in Slovenia where he got his 1st Grandmaster Norm. He achieved his 2nd Grandmaster norm in a Grandmaster Tournament in Abu Dhabi. After making his 3rd and final norm, he was able to achieve the title Grandmaster.

Notable games

The following game was played in 2007 world cup. The opponent was Pavel Eljanov (19th in the world then).

Enamul was white, Pavel was black. The game is a nice depiction of a system called 'Spanish Game, Berlin Defense'. The game lasted till 61 moves, and then Pavel resigned.
