Fatou Samba

Fatou Samba (born March 23, 1995), known professionally as Fatou, is a Senegalese singer, dancer, and model. She is a member of the South Korean girl group Blackswan under DR Music, making her the first singer of African descent to debut in the K-pop industry, after Alexandra Reid, who was a member of Blackswan’s predecessor Rania.[1]

Personal life

Fatou was born in Yoff, Dakar, Senegal. She lived in Belgium for a while before moving to South Korea[2] and she also can speak English, French, German, Dutch and Korean.[3][4]

Career

Fatou has been active in modeling before deciding to move to South Korean to become a trainee.[5] She became a member of the South Korean girl group Blackswan under DR Music,[6] she was revealed on July 2020 as the fourth member of the group,[7] Fatou is the second idol of African descent to debut through DR Music, after Alex who is African-American.

Blackswan made their debut with the studio album Goodbye Rania, released on October 16, 2020. with the title track "Tonight".[8][9][10][11]
