Federal Islamic Republic of the Comoros

The Federal Islamic Republic of the Comoros was the second independent state governing the Comoros islands. which cover the islands of Grande-Comore, Anjouan, Mohéli and Mayotte (Although Mayotte was never part of the Comoros, and was instead a separate Dependent territory of France itself).

It was created in 1978 to replace the State of the Comoros. In 2001, it was succeeded by the Union of the Comoros.

Economy

In June 1980, promulgation creating the Central Bank of the Comoros In 1983, the average price of buying vanilla from the planter was 3,500 FC per kilo and it was 1,850 FC in 1992.
