Fehmarn Sound Tunnel
The Fehmarn Sound Tunnel is projected to be built by 2028 and is projected to cost €718 million.[1] The tunnel will be near Großenbrode. It will be built because the expected increase of traffic due to the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link can't be handled by the existing Fehmarn Sound Bridge, especially the rail traffic.
- The tunnel will connect the island to the mainland, in the lower part of the picture. The yellow line is another part of the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link.
