Ankoné became overall junior world champion at the 1991 and 1992 World Junior Speed Skating Championships. When she became senior she stopped with speed skating after she lost satisfaction. In 2004 Jac Orie stimulated her to start speed skating again with his team “Nationale Postcode Loterij”. Ankoné qualified for ISU Speed Skating World Cup and as a result of her good results she received a contract until the 2006 Winter Olympics. [2] Ankoné represented the Netherlands at the 2005 World Single Distance Speed Skating Championships in the team pursuit event. At the 2005 European Speed Skating Championships she finished 6th overall.[3] However, before the 2005-06 speed skating season the stopped again because she couldn’t cope with the pressure.

Between 2000 and 2005 she had a total of 10 starts at national championships. She won the bronze medal at the 2002 Dutch Single Distance Championships in the 1500 metres and 3000 metres event and she won also the bronze medal at the 2005 Dutch Single Distance Championships in the 1500 metres event.[3]
