The restaurant opened in 2008 at the same address as the small one-star restaurant Mistral, which had closed in December 2007. It was opened by chef Björn Frantzén and pastry chef Daniel Lindeberg,[1] who had both worked at Edsbacka krog (Sweden's first restaurant with two Michelin stars) before deciding on opening their own restaurant. In 2009, the restaurant was awarded its first Michelin star, and in 2010 the second star followed.[2]
Lindeberg left the restaurant in 2013 which led to a name change from Frantzén/Lindeberg to Frantzén.
