Gabriel Eckstein

Gabriel E. Eckstein is an Israeli-born lawyer and professor at the Texas A&M University School of Law.

Eckstein was born in Israel.[1] He studied geology and international relations at Kent State University before pursuing a master's degree in international affairs at Florida State University. Eckstein completed a Juris Doctor followed by a Master of Law in international environmental law at American University Washington College of Law.[2][3]

Eckstein was licensed to practice law in New York, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C. He has served as an adviser for a number of national and intergovernmental organizations, including the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Organization of American States, and UNESCO. At the Texas Tech University School of Law, Eckstein taught as an associate professor from 2003, and was later appointed the George W. McCleskey Chair in Water Law in 2006. He moved to the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in 2010, and joined the Texas A&M University School of Law faculty in 2013.[2] In 2018, Eckstein was elected president of the International Water Resources Association.[4]
