Gandhinagar (Rajasthan Assembly constituency)

Gandhinagar, Jaipur Vidhan Sabha seat was a constituency of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly in 1972. The seat was abolished in the delimitation exercise around 1976.

Future Chief Minister Bhairon Singh Shekhawat contested every Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha election since the first one in 1952. In 1972, he contested from Gandhinagar as a Jana Sangh candidate and was defeated. He was elected to Rajya Sabha in 1974 from Madhya Pradesh. He resigned from Rajya Sabha in 1977 when he was chosen to be Rajasthan's Chief Minister.

In 1972 he served as Member of Legislative Assembly from Janardan Singh as a member of Indian National Congress.[1]
