George P. Wilbur

George Peter Wilbur (born March 6, 1941) is an American actor and a former professional stuntman.

Biography

At 6 ft 2 inches (188 cm) Wilbur played Michael Myers in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers.[1] He was the first actor to portray Michael Myers more than once during the film series. The second actor to play Michael Myers more than once is Tyler Mane, who starred in the reboot of the Halloween franchise, in Rob Zombie's Halloween in 2007, and in 2009 reprised the role again in Rob Zombie's H2. Wilbur also was credited as a stunt player in Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, another Halloween sequel, although not in the role of Michael Myers. His career as a stuntman lasted for 40 years and involved over 100 television and film projects beginning with stand in work for John Wayne in 1966. He is a member of the Hollywood Stuntmen's Hall of Fame.

Wilbur also played extra roles in many of the films he performed in.

Wilbur also appeared in A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child.

In the episode "Tom Tucker: The Man and His Dream" of the animated series Family Guy, it is stated that 'George P. Wilbur' was a stage-name in the early career of newscaster Tom Tucker. The episode also features archive footage of the nightmare scene from Halloween 4 where Wilbur (as Michael Myers) attacks Danielle Harris (as Jamie Lloyd) in her bedroom and Michael, in Tom’s voice, says “Good evening, I’m Michael Myers. I have enormous psychological problems and I’m going to take them out on you.”
