Ghulam Farooq Awan
Ghulam Farooq Awan (Urdu: غلام فاروق اعوان) (born 10 February 1961), is a Pakistani lawyer and columnist, and former adviser to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for law, justice and parliamentary affairs.[1] He previously also served as additional Attorney General of Pakistan.

Early life
Ghulam Farooq was born on 10 February 1961. He was born in a village called Hothla in Kahuta. He passed his primary studies in Hothla Primary school. He graduated in LLB from Punjab University. He mastered in Islamic studies. He graduated in MA. He also participated in students' union politics and was Student Representative in college.
Family
Awan belongs to a political family. He is the brother of Babar Awan. His nephews are lawyers and one of his nephews is Shakeel Awan.
Political career
He joined the legal practice in 1991 and has spent over 20 years as a lawyer. He became the additional Attorney General of Pakistan on 4 January 2011 and was appointed as the Adviser to the PM, Yousuf Raza Gillani on 16 April 2011 by President of Pakistan, Asif Zardari.[2] He was made the adviser to the Prime Minister in 2011.[3] He later left Pakistan People's Party and joined the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf in 2016.
