Global Women's Basketball Association
The Global Women's Basketball Association (GWBA) is a women's professional basketball league operating in the Midwest region of the United States. The league was founded in 2016 and features four teams.

History
The GWBA was founded in 2016 by former James Madison forward Sonya Nichols in Chicago, Illinois.[1] As of 2020, it features four teams, but plans for expansion.[2]
The league's player pool consists of former often local college stars, former WNBA players and accomplished international players.[3]
