It was established in 1980 and situated in a campus of 17.10 acres of land, located in an ecologically fragile area in Calicut. The institution has consistently abided by the ecological norms, with minimal intervention to nature.[2]

History

Government College, Kodancherry was established on 22 July 1980 and was formally inaugurated by the Education Minister, Sri. K. Baby John.

Accreditation

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Academics

Currently the college has four undergraduate, two post-graduate, and two doctoral programmes. Department of Economics and Department of Commerce functions as the research centre approved by Calicut University.
