Gutowski

Most extant branches belong to the Slepowron (ancient nobility) Clan, one of the original clans, which was located south of Warsaw in the Duchy of Mazovia. Later, this name spread to 4 other clans.

History

The Gutowski of Guty branch settled in Prussia (1505), Russia (1657) and in Austria (1783), and still exist.

The Prussian noble family von Drygalski (von Drigalski) descend from the Gutowskis, following the acquisition of villages Drygallen, Schlaga and Wirsbinnen / district Lyck in East Prussia. In 1505, the family changed its name to von Drygalski. The Rhau von Gutowski of Prussia also belonged to this line. The male line was thought to have been extinct since 1919, due to the world wars. Polish nobility is passed on only by male descendants.
