Guvvala Balaraju

Guvvala Balaraj is the member of the legislative assembly representing Achampet (SC) (Assembly constituency).[1] He belongs to Telangana Rashtra Samithi and is its official spokesperson.[2][3]

Early life

He was born in village in Wanaparthy in Mahbubnagar district, Andhra Pradesh to Guvvala Ramulu & Bakkamma, an agricultural laborer. He went to ZPHS in Wanaparthy, graduation from New Government Degree College, Khairtabad and LLM from PRR Law College, Hyderabad.

Career

He started working part-time with his father, who was a laborer and later became a small construction contractor. He now runs a company, GBR Infrastructure in Hyderabad.

Political career

He contested but lost to Manda Jagannath as a Member of Parliament for Nagarkurnool constituency. He won as an MLA from Achampet with nearly 12,000 vote's majority in the first Telangana Legislative Elections, 2014. Regardless of the position, Sri Guvvala Balaraju has been working with a clear vision to empower strong leaders. With the help of his strong communication skills, he gets things done either with the help of public or a legislature. Balaraju participated in a number of welfare programs which include distributing health and hygiene kits through the Government and organizing Purple Eye Light Camps through which free eye checkups, starting the double bedroom house project in Achampet town, medicine distribution and arranging a mega job mela. He is always first in serving society. There has been remarkable progress in irrigation works. He kept his promise by starting the building work for a 100-bed hospital in Achampet.

Personal life

Guvvala Balaraju married Amala. She is a true role model for women empowerment. She loves mingling with the women of her constituency. She is well associated with Bathukamma, the famous festival of Telangana State. The festival begins from home, with women and girls of the family making the Bathukamma, then they all gather in the common area of the locality and pray to the goddess singing devotional songs.
