Terror was commissioned in 1742 under the command of Commander Abraham Duncomb.
In March 1746, whilst under command of a Capt John Fergussone, Terror landed troops from Mingary Castle, which was being used as a barracks, who carried out raids on Morvern, known as the 'burning of Morvern'' punishing Jacobite supporters.[1]
Terror was involved in the naval battle in Loch nan Uamh during the Jacobite rising, where she was disabled by a volley from the French privateer Bellone. She was sold in 1754 at Deptford.
