She was the most popular singer in South Korea at the time, causing a syndrome in the late 1970s. Representative songs include 《You Won't Know》, 《Passion》, 《Gam-Soo-Kwang》(Korean: 감수광), 《The 3rd Hangang Bridge》(Korean: 제3한강교), 《I Love Only You》(Korean: 당신만을 사랑해), 《Teetee Pangpang》(Korean: 뛰뛰빵빵), 《Monologue》(Korean: 독백), 《Threnody》(Korean: 비가), and 《Blue World》(Korean: 파란나라). She is a legendary Korean woman singer.[2] She belongs to Arang Entertainment((Korean: 아랑 엔터네인먼트)).[3] She is the singer Yoyomi(Korean: 요요미) respects most.[4] She debuted in 1975 by releasing the first album containing the song 《You Won't Know》(Korean: 당신은 모르실꺼야). With her explosive vocal power and beauty, the 'Haeeunlee(Korean: 혜은이)' syndrome arose. In 1977, their 2nd album < I Really Really Love You>(Korean: 진짜 진짜 좋아해) and 3rd album < I Love Only You>(Korean: 당신만을 사랑해) both hit the top of the list. She was awarded 'the Best Singer Award', 'Singer King(Korean: 가수왕)', and 'Best Popular Singer Award'. As a leader in fashion, it has become Korea's best icon in name and reality. In addition, all title songs from the 1st to 14th albums ranked first.[5]

After winning the prize at 'the Pacific Music Festival' in 1978, She is the original 'Hallyu star(Korean: 한류스타)' who has been a hot topic in Southeast Asia with actor Kim Ja-ok(Korean: 김자옥). It gained popularity as an icon of youth in the 1970s, and sparked a disco craze with <The Third Hangang Bridge>(Korean: 제3한강교). He was a star who led the first sister's squad and created trends such as fashion and hairstyles.[6]

Since 1977, She has been invited to the awards ceremony for the year-end broadcasting station seven times in a row. In 1977 and 1979, She won 'the Singer King(Korean: 가수왕)' and 'Best Popular Song Award(Korean: 최고인기가요상)' (I only love you, the 3rd Hangang Bridge) at MBC's 'Top 10 Singers Song Festival(Korean: 10대 가수 가요제)'. From 1978 to 1980s, she won the TBC 'Women's Popularity Award'. It was selected as the most popular singer by foreign journalists in Korea from 1977 to 1980. In 1977, She won the KBS 'Music Awards(Korean: 가요대상)' – 'Best Popularity Award(Korean: 최고인기가수상)' and the TBC 'Women's Singer Award(Korean: 여자 가수상)', and in the same year, She won the MBC 'Entertainment Awards(Korean: 연예대상)' in the 'Singer Category', and in 1977, She left a record of winning all the Korean singer awards.[7]

Even in the 2000s, she is consistently loved by the public and is appearing on broadcasts. She often appears on the KBS 1TV 'Golden Oldies(Korean: 가요무대)'.[8]
