Hakatere Conservation Park

Hakatere Conservation Park is a protected area in Mid Canterbury, New Zealand.[1][2] It includes 60,000 hectares and offers an array of recreational activities. The park is located in the Ashburton Lakes District between the Rakaia River and Rangitata River.

It mostly includes hectares of rugged mountain country, tussocklands, beech forest and clear rivers and lakes[3] The closest town is Mount Somers.[4]
