Harchandpur is one of five assembly constituencies in the Lok Sabha constituency of Rae Bareli. Since 2008, this assembly constituency is numbered 179 amongst 403 constituencies.
Currently this seat belongs to Indian National Congress candidate Rakesh Singh who won in last Assembly election of 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Elections defeating BJP candidate Kusuma Lodhi by a margin of 3,652 votes.[1]
