Helmut Gude
Helmut Gude (23 November 1925 – 3 February 2001) was a German steeplechase runner. He competed in the men's 3000 metres steeplechase at the 1952 Summer Olympics finishing eight.[1] Gude was the first German under 8:50.0 minutes in the steeplechase in 1952.[1]

Gude became German national 3000 metres steeplechase champion in 1951 and 1952. He won the national cross-country championships in 1953 and was runner-up in 1954.[1]
Gude emigrated to the United States in 1954. He became a carpenter.[1]
