Herisau railway station
Herisau railway station (German: Bahnhof Herisau) is a railway station in Herisau, in the Swiss canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden. It is an intermediate station on the 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in) standard gauge Bodensee–Toggenburg railway and 1,000 mm (3 ft 3 3⁄8 in) metre gauge Gossau–Wasserauen railway. It served by local and long-distance trains.

Herisau is served by the Voralpen Express, which runs hourly between Lucerne and St. Gallen.[1]
Local
Herisau is served by five services of the St. Gallen S-Bahn:[1][2]
- S2: hourly service over the Bodensee–Toggenburg railway between Nesslau-Neu St. Johann and Altstätten SG.
- S4: hourly service over the Bodensee–Toggenburg railway via Sargans (circular operation).
- S23: half-hourly service over the Gossau–Wasserauen railway between Gossau SG and Wasserauen.
- S81: hourly service over the Bodensee–Toggenburg railway to St. Gallen.
- RE: hourly service over the Bodensee–Toggenburg railway to Konstanz.
