The district is completely within southern Plymouth County, and serves the town of Hinton and the surrounding rural areas.[2]
The school mascot is the Blackhawks, and their colors are black and gold.
Todd Meyer has been the superintendent since 2019, after serving as superintendent at Jackson County Central in Minnesota for 11 years.[3][4]
