A WAP 7 locomotive from the Howrah shed hauls the train from Howrah to Agra Fort after which a Bhagat Ki Kothi based WDP 4 / WDP 4B / WDP 4D locomotive hauls the train for the remainder of the journey until Jodhpur and vice versa.

This train has operational RMS section b/w Jodhpur Jaipur, Jaipur Agra Fort, Agra Fort Kanpur, Kanpur Mughal Sarai, Mughal Sarai Gaya & Gaya Howrah. Between Jodhpur Jaipur mostly intra circle Mail Bags are handled. However Jaipur RMS gives forwarding Mail Bags for NSH Agra, NSH Kanpur, NSH Lucknow, NSH Allahabad, NSH Varanasi, NSH Patna, NSH Gorakhpur, NSH Muzaffarpur, NSH Barauni, NSH Gaya, NSH Jabalpur, NSH Dhanbad, NSH Burdwan
