Idris Sultan

Idris Sultan (born January 28, 1993) is a Tanzanian Actor, comedian, and Radio host who won the Big Brother Africa-Hotshots in 2014.[1] He hosts the biggest comedy news show called SIO HABARI. Apart from that, he also hosts his own stand-up comedy show. He is well known in Tanzania through the vines he posts on Instagram.[2] Also he hosts a radio show called MwB(Mji wa Burudani) on "ChoiceFM[3]" Tanzania.

He has been arrested for "cyberbullying" after he posted a picture of himself and another of the Tanzanian President, John Magufuli, with the faces swapped. The punchline was that they had changed places so that the President could have a day of peace of his birthday. Sultan was instructed on-line to report to a police station where he was detained.[4]

He was arrested again in April 2020 for "owning a sim card" that he had failed to register.[5] He was arrested again in May for "cyberbullying the President" as he had posted a picture of himself laughing at an old photo of the President.[6]
