Igora

Igora is a year-round resort in the Leningrad Oblast, Russia. There's a multifunctional area for outdoor activities and spa complex. The resort is located on the 54th kilometer of the Priozersky highway, in the Priozersky District of Leningrad Oblast, in the immediate vicinity of the village of Sosnovo.

History

The resort was opened on January 28, 2006, with Ozon LLC as its original owner.[1][2] The first turn included 10 ski slopes (elevation difference of 120 meters), 7 ski lifts, including four-chair lifts, equipment rental, a hotel and cottages, a restaurant and a bistro. In the winter of 2007-2008 were launched spa complex with 25-meter swimming pool and a gourmet restaurant "Le Chalet", a park with a series of jumps big air and jibbing series. In the summer of 2008, an artificial lake at the foot of the mountain was equipped for a summer beach holiday. There were heated pools, a sandy beach, a sports and children's playground, a bar, gazebos with barbecue. In 2010, the Ice Palace was launched, which includes an ice arena, curling, two restaurants, a conference zone, a cinema, a games area with a bowling alley, slot machines and billiards.

Official competitions

The resort has international certification for parallel slalom competitions . Extreme park facilities also meet the requirements of international competitions.

Extreme Park

In the winter season, the Igora ski resort built a park for skiers and snowboarders. Usually the park was divided into 3 zones: halfpipe zone, slopestyle zone with jumps and a jibbing zone with a variety of handrails and boxes. In the extreme park there were competitions for professionals and amateurs, such as: Igora Sun Pipe,[3] Igora Rail Jam,[4] and Igora Snow Sapiens.[5]

Racing complex

In 2019, the Igora Drive racing complex, designed by Herman Tilke, was opened in Igora[6] along with Igora Rail Jam[7] and Igora Snow Sapiens[8]
