Iman Qureshi

Iman Qureshi (born 20 July 1997) is a Pakistani tennis player.[1]

Background

Qureshi was born to Omer and Meena Qureshi on 20 May 1997 in Lahore.

Career

She started playing tennis at the age of 10. The talented tennis star[2] secured 3rd position in Asia under 14[3] tournament. Besides this accomplishment, at the age of 11, she secured 1st prize at the National Women's Cup. In 2008, she was the youngest participant to win the National Governors Cup. She also won the ATF championship held in Damascus, Syria in 2010.

Qureshi has played tennis on international level as well. She represented Pakistan at the international Fed Cup, in Kazakhstan, in 2013 and in an Indian tournament in 2015. [4] She was ranked second amongst the under-18s female tennis players in Pakistan.

She was the only Pakistani tennis player to be ranked 17th in the All-Asia Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) Championships.[5] Owing to her meritorious performance, she was ranked 3rd in the ATF Doubles Championship in Aleppo, Syria.

Other activities

Besides tennis, Qureshi is a good swimmer and has won several competitions. She also loves to play basketball as part of her fitness regime.
