Intisar Salem Al Ali Al Sabah

Sheikha Intisar Salem Al Ali Al Sabah (born 12 September 1964) is the founder and editorial director of Lulua Publishing and the Founder of Alnowair positivity initiative. She is also a member of the consultative board of the United Nations Development Programme bureau in Kuwait, a columnist at Al Qabas Newspaper, and former chairman and managing director of Refrigeration Industries and Storage Company SAK.

She has established the Intisar Foundation to support women who struggle in war situations.

Education

She attended the New English School in Kuwait where she completed her secondary education.

In 1982 she enrolled at Kuwait University to study physics before shifting to the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Refrigeration Industries and Storage Company SAK

In 2003 she held the position of board member at Refrigeration Industries and Storage Company SAK in Kuwait. On 27 August 2006 she was appointed chairman and managing director of the company and she held that position until August 2011.

Lulua Publishing

In 2011 Sheikha Intisar launched Lulua Publishing with the motto 'You, but simply better'. Lulua Publishing focuses on publications that promote personal enrichment.

In 2012 Lulua Publishing published The Alchemy of Wisdom, a photography book.

In 2014 Lulua published the Arabic version of the wellbeing series entitled Les Petits Cahiers D’exercices originally published by Editions Jouvence. These self-help books aim at helping people achieve mental and physical wellbeing. The series includes titles such as: Petit cahiers d’exercices pour se faire des amis et développerses relations (Small exercise book to make friends and develop your relations), Petit cahiers d’exercices de simplicitéheureuse (Small exercise book to live in happy simplicity); etc.

Alnowair

On March 20th, 2013, and in conjunction with the first International Day of Happiness launched by the United Nations to inspire 100 million people around the world, Sheikha Intisar launched Alnowair, a non-profit initiative. Alnowair is an initiative of social responsibility that targets Kuwaiti youth and aims to spread positive thinking through various activities, campaigns, and conferences which rely on scientific research conducted by prestigious institutions, such as Harvard & Berkeley.

Prismologie Ltd

Since 2013 she is Director of Prismologie Ltd.

Bareec

Bareec Project for Positive Thinking and Well-Being is the educational arm of Alnowair. Founded in July 2016, Bareec implements a set of short, interactive activities in classrooms that help instill a positive attitude in the students.

  • Member of the executive committee of the « Bayt Abdullah Children's Hospice » (BACCH) since its establishment.

  • Member of the Federation of Arab Journalists since 2015.

  • Jury member at the Arab Woman Awards since 2013.
  • Participation in TEDxSafat in 2012.

In 2014 Sheikha Intisar was appointed member of the consultative board of the United Nations Development Programme bureau in Kuwait.
