Ioannis Dimakopoulos (basketball)
Ioannis Dimakopoulos (alternate spellings: Giannis, Yiannis, Yannis) (Greek: Ιωάννης Δημακόπουλος; born November 7, 1994) is a Greek professional basketball player. He is a 2.18 m (7'2") tall, and 119 kg (262 lbs.)[1] center.

Early years
Dimakopoulos began playing basketball with the youth clubs of the Greek team Panathinaikos. He played at the 2010 Jordan Brand Classic International Game.
High school
Dimakopoulos left Greece, and he then attended Cathedral High School, in Los Angeles, California, in the United States, where he also played high school basketball. While at Cathedral High, he was a 2013 McDonald’s All-American nominee.
College career
After high school, Dimakopoulos played four years of NCAA Division I college basketball at UC Irvine, where he played with the UC Irvine Anteaters, from 2013 to 2017.[2] He was named to the All-Big West Conference Second Team in 2017.[3][4]
Professional career
On September 7, 2017, Dimakopoulos signed with the Greek club Kolossos Rodou.[5] Two weeks later, he was released from the club for "personal reasons".[6]
On December 23, 2020, he signed with Aris Leeuwarden of the Dutch Basketball League (DBL).[7]
Greek national team
Dimakopoulos was a member of the Greek junior national teams. With Greece's junior national teams, he played at the 2010 FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship, and at the 2011 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship.[8]
Personal
Dimakopoulos' father, Dimitris Dimakopoulos, was also a professional basketball player, and he was a member of the senior Greek national basketball team.[9]
