Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry-ICCI was established in 1984. Since, its establishment it has played a key role in looking after the business interest of its more than 3000 members. Steel, pharmaceuticals, flour, marble, oil & ghee, are the major industries in this region; whereas, industries of light engineering, soap and chemicals, ceramic and other allied industries are also playing important role in generating employment and economic activity in Islamabad Capital Territory-ICT.

ICCI has representation in government advisory Committees and Boards. Representatives of ICCI give recommendations to policymakers on various policy related matters for business development to increase local and foreign investment, to expand tax net, increase exports, etc. High government officials are invited at Chamber to discuss with them local issues of businessmen and to find solutions of highlighted matters with mutual coordination and collaboration.

Besides advocacy initiatives, ICCI provides platform for linkage with the international counterparts by holding B2B meetings with members. Trade delegations of ICCI frequently visit abroad to participate in international exhibitions to find partners in the areas of their business interest.

Youth and women entrepreneurship development is another focus area of the Chamber. Our objective is to bring young business graduates in entrepreneurial world and to help support women to start small business ventures for their positive contribution in the society. A help desk provides information about the registration process for setting up a business and how to increase outreach in the local and international market.

Various training awareness programs are regularly organized for the capacity building of members in different areas.

Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry played key role in the establishment of a dry port near industrial area, Islamabad. Whereas efforts are being made for setting up a new industrial Estate in ICT.
