Jaap Weideman

Rear Admiral Jacob Andries Cornelius 'Jaap' Weideman (1936 - 1996) was a South African Navy officer.

He joined the Navy in 1954 and in 1955 attended the South African Military Academy.[1]:164

In 1968 he commanded SAS Mosselbaai.[1]:196

In 1970 he became the first South African to qualify as a submariner and became the first Officer Commanding of SAS Maria van Riebeeck.[2]

In 1982 he was appointed as Inspector General (Navy).[3]
