Jacqueline Wolper Massawe (born 6 December 1987) is a Tanzanian actress and fashion stylist.

Biography

Wolper was born and raised in Moshi, Tanzania.[1] She attended Mawenzi Primary School before moving to Magrath, Ekenywa and Masai for her secondary school.[2] She entered the Tanzanian film industry in 2007. Wolper has appeared in many popular movies, including Tom Boy – Jike Dume, Crazy Desire, Mahaba Niue, I am Not Your Brother, Chaguo Langu, Dereva Taxi, Shoga Yangu, Red Valentine and Family Tears.[3] Her roles in Red Valentine and Family Tears received recognition in Kenya and turned her into one of the most popular actresses in Tanzania. In addition to acting, Wolper is the founder of houseofstylish_tz, a clothes shop located in Dar es Salaam.[4][5] In 2018, Wolper was selected to judge at the Miss Tanzania beauty pageant, but her name was dropped after she was late to a seminar.[6]

Personal life

Wolper began dating the popular musician Harmonize in May 2016. However, the pair broke up in February 2017.[7] She also had a relationship with his musical partner, Diamond Platnumz.[8] Despite having an interest in Kenyan culture, Wolper stated she did not want to have a relationship with a Kenyan man.[9]

In 2018, she announced that she had become a born-again Christian.[10] Wolper is known for her controversial statements to the Tanzanian media, and she has expressed fear of being bewitched because of them.[1]
