James Sellar (minister)
The Very Rev James Sellar DD was 19th century Scottish minister who served as Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 1875.[1]
Life
He was minister of Aberlour in northern Scotland from at least 1863.[2]
In 1867 he served on the Committee on Aids to Devotion.[3]
In the year of his being Moderator he served under the Earl of Rosslyn as Lord High Commissioner of the General Assembly, and with Robert Lee, advocate as Procurator.[4]
Artistic recognition
He was painted by George Paul Chalmers around 1875.[5]
