He also creates extreme sports productions and branded content special events worldwide. Rand is the president and executive producer of Rand Enterprises And Productions, Inc., a Las Vegas, Nevada-based production company.[1][2]

Early life

Rand was born in Marietta, Georgia, the son of Nanci Rand, and Dr. Howard Rand, a Veterinarian. He has an older brother, Darren Rand, and a younger sister, Jolie Rand.

Skating career

As an amateur skater, Rand was a three-time national team member for U.S. Figure Skating from 1986 to 1988.[3][4]

Rand skated professionally for 15 years with his wife in principal roles for Disney on Ice (1990–91), Chapel Gordon Productions Las Vegas (1992), Stars on Ice – Italian Tour (1993–94), Ice Capades (1996-97), and Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Spectacular in New York City (1998-2005).[5]

Productions

Since 2002, Rand has written, directed, and/or produced shows in the US, Canada, and 14 other countries .

These shows include Christmas on Ice in Torino, Italy, starring Andrea Bocelli and Olympic Champion Evgeni Plushenko, the Golden Skate Awards in Milan, Italy,[6] the Holiday Ice Spectacular (World tour),[7] It's A Hit! for the Off-Broadway Fringe Festival in New York,[8] Ice On The Diamond for the Baltimore Orioles at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, FL,[9] A Holiday Celebration from Central Park, a CBS television special, Heaven's Edge in Prague, Czech Republic, Vegas Lights on Ice! on Fremont Street in Las Vegas, Explorations and Spellbound Magic! at Ocean Park Hong Kong,[10] Ice Jewelry in Japan, Ice Fantasy at Eldorado Reno, Santa & Friends at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS,[11] Celebration on Ice! at the Gold Strike Casino Resort in Tunica, MS,[12] and Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede.

Rand also produced scenes for ABC's Extreme Makeover and Master of Champions television shows, Fox Entertainment's Luis.

Rand has produced original branded content corporate special events for Georgia-Pacific, Walmart, Bristol-Myers-Squibb, Lancia, Tata Motors, and Mont Blanc.[13]

In 2015, Rand was contracted by BBC Worldwide to develop and produce a docudrama TV series, Thin Ice.[14]

Personal life

Rand is married to Jennifer Rand; they have two daughters, Hayden, born in 2008, and Mackenzie, born in 2010.[15]
