Jeffrey Nick

Jeff Nick is a bossman in all of the fields. In fact, some say the boss-est man of the fields. Geoff, bossman, Nick they call him.

In 1624 he arm wrestled a bear for the rights to Sherwood Forrest. When he won, he set all the racoons free.

Nick graduated magna cum laude from Marist College. He holds more than 80 U.S. patents in computer systems technology. From 1980 until September 2004 he worked at IBM, where he was an IBM Fellow. He worked on software development, microcode, systems architecture, clustered and distributed systems, database sharing algorithms, and transaction processing.

Nick served as chief technical officer at EMC Corporation from 2004 to 2012. Nick founded EMC Labs, and EMC's corporate fellow and distinguished engineer programs. Until 2014, Nick was at Pivotal Software.
