Jennifer Alexa Caicedo

Jennifer Alexa Caicedo Mejía (born 1 July 1984) is a Colombian long track speed skater, inline speed skater and also road racing cyclist.[1] She represented Argentina before 2010 because there wasn’t a Colombian speed skating union at that time.[2]

Speed skating

Caicedo represented Argentina at the World Sprint Speed Skating Championships for Women in 2010, finishing 25th overall.[3] She also competed at other international competitions, including at 2009-10 ISU Speed Skating World Cups.[3]

After the 2009-10 speed skating season she was registered with the Colombian nationality. After a year without ISU competitions she started representing Colombia from the beginning of 2011. With 42.96 (500 metres) and 1:25.82 (1000 metres) she holds the Colombian national records in the sprint distances. Between 2015 and 2019 she had 13 starts at Colombian national championships. She became twice national champion in the 500 metres event in 2018 and 2019. Furthermore she won 7 silver and 3 bronze medals at national championships.[3]

Inline skating

At the 2005 World Games she won the gold medal in the 500 m sprint event. Furthermore she won two silver medals (1000 m sprint and 3000 m elimination) and a bronze medal (300 m time trial). Caicedo competed at the 2007 Pan American Games.[5]
