Johann Gottlieb

Johann Gottlieb (February 15, 1815 March 4, 1875) was an Austrian chemist who first synthesized Propionic acid. Gottlieb was born in Brno, Moravia in Austria (now Czech Republic). Since 1846 he was a professor at the University of Graz. He died of natural causes in Graz, Austria.
