John Duggan (radio presenter)

John Duggan (died 22 July 2019) was an Irish singer-songwriter from Killashee, County Longford.[1]

Career

Duggan was born in Killashee, Longford, although he relocated to Glenamaddy, County Galway at the height of the Irish showband era. He worked as an officer for Garda Síochána for a number of years, and began composing songs while working in the 1970s.[2][3]

Many of his songs have been recorded by artists including Foster and Allen, Daniel O'Donnell, T.R. Dallas, Seamus Moore, Gene Stuart amongst others.

In later years he lived in Claremorris, County Mayo were he was a host of MidWest Radio. He was also a writer of poetry which were published in a book titled Songs, Poems and Recitations.[4]
