John H. Bunzel
John Harvey Bunzel was an American academic. He served as president of San Jose State University from 1970 to 1978 and has been a senior research fellow at the Hoover Institution since 1978. He was formerly a member of the United States Commission on Civil Rights.[3]

Early life and education
Bunzel graduated from Kent School in 1942, a AB in political science from Princeton University, an MA in sociology from Columbia University, and a PhD in political science from the University of California, Berkeley. He served in the United States Army 1943-1946.
