Joshua Carroll

Joshua Carroll is an American public address announcer for the University of Arkansas–Little Rock Trojans for men's basketball, and is "The Voice of the Bruins" as play-by-play announcer for Pulaski Academy football. He has also been the public address announcer for the Arkansas Travelers minor league baseball team and several high school sports in Arkansas including Little Rock Central High School.

Biography

Carroll started in journalism in the Arkansas National Guard. After returning to his civilian career in information technology, he volunteered to serve as public address announcer for the Pulaski Academy baseball team. His first professional job as a public address announcer came when he was hired by Arkansas Razorbacks football notable Rickey Williams to announce American football and basketball games. He was later hired by the Little Rock School District to announce high school American football, basketball, and track and field.

In 2015 Carroll was selected to replace RJ Hawk as the public address announcer of the Arkansas–Little Rock Trojans men's basketball team. That same year the Trojans made it to the second round of the NCAA basketball tournament for only the second time in program history.

Carroll was named the announcer of the Arkansas Travelers in 2016, taking up the reins from Russ McKinney. He was succeeded the following year by Chris Amsler.

In 2018 Carroll was hired by Pulaski Academy to be the Voice of the Bruins on their radio and video broadcasts. The following year he was asked to additionally be the General Manager of the broadcast crew labelled as "PA Live".

Personal

Carroll grew up in Arkansas and joined the Army after graduating from Conway High School (Arkansas). While in the Army he held several positions including meteorologist, print journalist and broadcast journalist.
