Juan Ansuátegui Roca

Juan Ansuátegui Roca (born 27 August 1956 Castellón de la Plana, Spain) was a Spanish international football referee.[1]

Career

He officiated 13 international matches and was member of FIFA in 1991-2002. He attributed 2 EURO qualifying (1996, 2000) and 5 World Cup qualifying (1994, 1998 and 2002) matches[2] and others were in friendly matches. He also attributed a EURO U21 qualifying match in 1994. He appointed a penalty kick in Hungarian Football Federation 100th Anniversary Match Hungary-Germany (2:5) in 2001 for Germany and German Jörg Böhme converted it in 31st minute.[3]

In club football he officiated some UEFA competition matches such as Champions League and qualification (1+4), UEFA Cup and qualification (12+3) and Intertoto Cup (1).[4] He refereed 225 La Liga matches, 36 Copa del Rey matches in 1992-2002. He also officiated 5 Supercopa de España matches in 1992, 1993, 1995, 1996 and 2000.

Personal life

After referee career he came back to medical profession in Villareal.[5]
