Juan Rute

Juan Rute or Ruter (16th century) was an English sailor and explorer, in the service to the Spanish crown. He attended the foundation of Buenos Aires and Asunción, and participated in the Spanish conquest of the territories of the New World.[1]

Rute, born possibly in London,[2] arrived in the Río de la Plata in the expedition of Pedro de Mendoza.[3] His son, Miguel de Rute attended the founding of Santa Fe.[4]
