Judith Clurman

Judith Clurman is a Grammy and Emmy-nominated conductor, choral director, and educator.

Education

Clurman grew up in Hicksville, New York. She has degrees in choral music from the Juilliard School.[1]

Career

Clurman served as Director of Choral Activities at the Juilliard School from 1989-2007.[2]

She was nominated for Emmy awards in both 2009 for her work as Sesame Street's Associate Music Director and 2020 for Outstanding Original Song for her composition, A Holiday Carol - The Holidays Are Here.[2][3]

Clurman is currently the musical director for the Symphony Singers and Essential Voices USA. She is a member of the faculty at the Manhattan School of Music.[3]

Personal life

Clurman, who is Jewish, is married to Cantor Bruce Ruben.[2]
