Jyothy Institute of Technology

The Jyothy Institute of Technology (JIT) is a private engineering college in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University,[1] Belgaum and approved by AICTE[2] - New Delhi. It was founded by Dr. B N V Subramanya, Karnataka Rajyotsva awardee, and is managed by the Jyothy Charitable Trust. Jyothy Institute of Technology is in Tataguni, off Kanakapura road, Bengaluru, Karnataka, a little distance before Art of Living. The college offers a Bachelor of Engineering degree in six disciplines of engineering, viz., Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning (started in the year 2020), Electronics and Communication, Computer Science and engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Science and engineering, Civil Engineering.Four of the disciplines are accredited by National board of Accreditation. The college was granted the status of a Research Institution by the Visvesvaraya Technological University in 2017-18 for 12 domains of engineering and Sciences: Physics, chemistry, Mathematics, polymer Science, Mechanical engineering, civil engineering, computer science and engineering, Information science and engineering, Nanotechnology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Food technology Biotechnology and so on.

JIT , with the blessings of pontiffs of Sringeri Sharada peetam, Shringeri, jointly with the Mutt, has established a state of the art exclusive R&D centre, Centre for Incubation, Innovation, Research and Consultancy with more than 40 doctorates working on various interdisciplinary domains of engineering and Sciences. The centre has more than 1000 lifetime publications in peer reviewed Scopus indexed journals, more than 30 products, several patents and incubations. It has many national and international collaborations and currently has nearly 10 crores worth of funded projects from national, international and state funding bodies/agencies.

JIT has another feather in the cap. It has the ATAL Incubation Center governed by Niti Aayog. Under AIC there are more than 10 incubations in its first year after inception in the year 2019 in the vistas of Food technology, sensors and devices, Materials.

JIT is ranked in the band of 251 -300 in the NIRF ranking 2020 edition.

JIT is ranked in the band of 26 to50 in the ARIIA Rankings in the year 2020 edition.

JIT also has notable accomplishments:

  1. Won the Smart India Hackathon 2020 in the software division for working on water harvesting system assessment using python, an MHRD initiative.
  2. Faculty Won the Technology Based Training in the e-Yantra competition , an IIT Bombay initiative.
  3. Won second place in the Avishkar championships , a VTU TEQIP initiative
  4. Jountly with Mentor Together offers 121 industry professional mentoring for students, a CSR initiative.
  5. Incubated two student incubations
  6. Won Bangalore Nano 2020
  7. One of our faculty was a team member of expedition to Antarctica and arctic.
  8. A student won Iste Student of the Year 2020
  9. Stood 5th overall in the SAE Aero USA 2020
  10. Won Safest cart award in the Ekocart competition held at Goutham Bhudda University, Noida.
  11. Two of our students were members of the international team in Taekwondo and Throwball championships.
